Remember not to supply more than 3.3V to the Zigbee module directly, otherwise, it will burn and render it not useful. You can use the adapter boards over which the Zigbee module can sit. The adapter boards take power input through a USB cable (USB A or B) and automatically downconvert the 5V input to 3.3V level.
Note: Series 1 and Series 2 XBee modules have the same pin-out, so the same Zigbee adapters can be used for both. However, Zigbee S 1 modules cannot communicate with S 2 modules, as they obey different communication protocols. Because Zigbee modules have only 2 mm of pin spacing, we recommend one of our adapter boards for each module.
